During the Tom Robinson's trial, I sat with the blacks. I felt sharp eyes gazing over at me and whispering behind my back. I knew what people were saying. An old, rich man drinking out of a paper bag sitting with a bunch of blacks. Who can say anything good about that? Anyways, the trial was quite upsetting. Although I was extremely impessed with Atticus' defense statements, I was awfully let down when Tom was announced guilty. Even though the jury was hesitant to reach a verdict, the end product was still predictable.
